Coming up to Speed With Grubbicon

Well I have a 2 door and I'm aiming to be 80" wide which should make me pretty damn stable, and look cool lol. I'm stretching mine too, the stretch will come later though

Yeah man my goal so far has been to keep the jeep nice a low but increase flex capability and overall stability/ride quality. My stretch won't be happening for a while but once it gets started there's no turning back that's why I'm trying to get everything squared away before I so much as replace my rear control arms. Hopefully I'll get the axle/drive shaft figured out soon so I can start getting those parts in and squared away before I actually move the wheels back

Yea I was thinking that's going to be WIDE AS HELL!!!!!

Definitely not 7.5-8ft more like 6.5-7ft

Here is why im saying 7.5-8ft wide. The axle is already 72"s wide (I measured to confirm that already) which is 6ft. Each tire I measured to 15" wide. Well considering a 3.5BS wheel is a good ways out there im gonna say the about 9"s or so is gonna be sticking out past the axle. Thats gonna take you to the 7.5ft mark. Im gonna stick with that and if you think its skinner good for you. We will see when it is done.

How wide are your wheels?

17x9.5 wrapped in a 40x13.5. Thats somewhere around 25psi

Well I did the equation with a 10" wide wheel and a 15" wide tire and with that setup it will be 7.5ft so I'm guessing you are referring to being aired down with the 15" wide tire but yeah I mean my thinking is the wider the better lol

Please let me in on this equation you speak of? Cause im still going to say anything under 7ft aint happening. I got a message out to a couple to see how wide theirs are so we will see if i get any responses

Not really an equation but more of a drawing

Not sure if this will make sense or not but I'm going to give it a go.

The front track width (center of tire to center of tire) of a 2005 f250 4x4 with stock wheels (5" bs) is 68.7". If you reduce wheel bs to 3.5" (3" total difference) you get 71.7" front track width. If you're a 13.50 tire, assuming 13.5 actual width (I believe they get wider when mounted and under load), your outside tire to outside tire would be track width plus 13.5 (half tire times two), bringing total outside width to 85.2". Hope that made sense.

Yesterday for shits and giggles took the portaband to the cast. Believe it or not it cut it much easier then I expected. I feel like the steel on this axle is worse to cut off then the cast.

Well after today im so close to being done with takin all the factory brackets off that I cant stand it. I started off by cutting the rest of the stuff off the passenger side and cleaning it up smooth.

After that broke the portaband and sawzall out and started to work on the cast on the driver side.
