yeah i wish they didnt burn so much oil, my truck burns about a quart every 8000 miles but burning a quart every 3000 is not cool!

I do belive the whole "once you go synthetic, you can't come back" thing doesn't really have much importance with newer engines. The theory behind it was that synthetic oil would make your gaskets and seals swell, and that if you went back to regular oil, the gaskets and seals would shrink again causing oil leaks and burning.

While I started using synthetic since my first oil change and plan to keep it that way, I don't think this should cause anything major. Gaskets and seals have somewhat adapted to this gain in popularity of synthetic oil vs. when it just started being used in production cars.

Damn, I've been using Amsoil OEM and Wix filters thinking I had the best combo, but turns out there might be better filters out there!
