Bottle Jack

I almost bought the safe jack system, but the limited lift height without blocks, the storage of all the components and the price I shifted gears and when with the Pro-Eagle jack and mount.

It takes up a little more room, but it is safer, it has a very low set up height that you can slide under an axle in uneven terrain, no need for blocks, but it does come with an extension if needed. The hard mount is also a bonus, I hate heavy things that are not secured inside the cab. It’s extremely stable with a large foot print even in mud.

After spending an hour on Safe Jack’s site, I’m sold. I’m a sucker for that sort of stuff but looks legit.

Regarding 6-ton jacks, most have around 6”-7” of ram travel. Is that enough to get the tire off the ground? I know it depends on suspension and how much up travel a setup has but 6” doesn’t seem like a lot.

Generally you will not be trying to jack the vehicle off of the frame, unless it is for suspension repairs. A 6 ton has plenty of stroke to lift from the axle. If needed carry a block of wood to set the jack on top of.

This ^^^

I carry some cut up pieces of 2x4 in the cubby to give me more options if needed.

I dunno, that jack looks a little “fragile”. [emoji23][emoji23]

Understood, I was thinking of getting the Safe Jack kit with the 3” curved pad specifically for the axles and an extension so I wouldn’t have to use wood blocks. Just wanted to make sure 6” was enough to lift from the axles. Thanks!!

I just keep the scissor jack in that spot and put a bottle jack in a bag. There could be use for a scissor jack someday for something other than changing a tire ore shaft. Might need two while alone or whatever. I’d rather have and not need then need and not have. Not to mention I just forget it’s there and putting a bottle jack in the cubby would be a total pain in the dickhole.

Do you guys not ever carry anything in the back? I am loaded with tools over that cubby and would have to remove them all in order to get to the jack.

I used to carry my strap there. Worked great until I was in a spot and needed it. I couldn't get out of the jeep as I need to keep the brake applied and my wife couldn't open her door either. One of the guys on the run had to unstrap and remove nearly everything I had back there to get it out. I carry it under the passenger seat now..hah

^^This...is a very good point. So, I should take my fire extinguisher out of the cargo tray under there?

You could keep it there. When your jeep is fully involved with flames the heat from the fire might make it go off. Would be another cool explosion.

You don’t put your toilet paper in the kitchen do you? No, you put it where you need it to wipe your ass.
