Yup...they are only reporting confirmed cases....there are literally millions more infected that have not been tested...and the massive backlog of samples that have yet been processed...

Did you see the idiots at the packed beaches in Florida for spring break?...all of those idiots are or have traveled back to where they came from...and spreading this shit wherever they go

I agree that the spring break shit was/is stupid. Taking a couple weeks off from drunken debauchery is hardly too much to ask if it would help stop the spread of the virus. For me at least, that is a much different discussion than shutting down the economy and confining people to their homes for many months, or more.

Watched a video on BBC from Italy.. gives a shocking view of what is happening on the ground when action was late and the R is way above 1 . Literally people lined up waiting for ventilators .

I was a huge fan of the lighter restrictions earlier in the week but can’t really trust people to do the right thing .. so shelter in place it is

I hope more people take the time to listen to people like doctors to understand what is coming unless we take the appropriate measures.

This is a time for the politicians to drop the political BS and come together for the common good.
That's hoping for a lot, especially in an election year.
 
One of our neighbor friends was trying to talk us in to letting our son go to Kona with them next week. He was telling me everything is business as usual on the Islands. No closures no nothing. He was kind of adamant about it like trying to pressure us to let him go even though we had politely declined. Then I see this morning Daniel Dae Kim (actor) flew home to HNL and tested positive. Now poor Ed is quarantined. The islanders are doomed!! [emoji135]

Things could and most likely will change quickly here, just as it has everywhere else on the mainland...if you travel, you could be stuck there for an indeterminate amount of time

NYC hospitals about to be overrun with the sick...they are already at 90% capacity...and like Italy, they will begin having to decide who gets on the ventilator...

That’s the problem...Americans are arrogant. A week ago in Henderson, I went to the grocery store to get food...enough so I wouldn’t have to go back for a week...there were a ton of people stacked like sardines in lines outside Target, Smiths, etc...not 6 feet apart, talking to each other like it was a line to a concert...
