ANOTHER WINDSHIELD Bites the Dust - What Number are You On?

Had my jeep for 2.5 months now. Replacing the windshield with integrated antenna, front collision sensors, lane assist sensors, and adaptive cruise control, already. Yay

Gorilla Glass and Mopar won't honor the warranty either saying that road debris like pebbles and small sharp objects aren't covered.

Even tho it states on the paperwork.

Guess Mopar doesn’t actually believe in GG either. Telling.

It's ridiculous. Why offer a warranty and not stick by it?

Got to work Monday and no cracks on my windshield. Leaving work (no traffic) and stopped at the end of the drive to check out a white line on my window below the box that holds the mirror. Get out, take a look and a crack. Don't feel a thing except the crack. No chip or anything.

The next day (after notifying the dealership I bought it from and Jeep Wave about it before moving futher down the road) I took it to the closest dealership (not dealership I bought it from) for warranty and they say it was caused by a rock chip. And said the warranty does not cover that. The guy was a complete jerk and rude and very unprofessional when I tried to get answers why it was not covered. And then presented the warranty to him and asked him where in this warranty does it state that road debris is not covered? He stormed off. Jeep Wave denied it too saying i waited to long to get it fixed. It was less than 18 hours. LOL

I watched the small crack form into what the image shows below, on my 25 mile ride home.
Full warranty here.

I always thought full warranty on a jeep windshield was ratarded. You got to believe the fine print they would weasel out of it . I’m sure it would need to be hit by a unicorn turd to be covered.
Thankfully I have a local body shop that will replace it and only a $500 deductible for glass.

Okay, this isn't a Jeep product, but it was hilarious.

If you are familiar with Ford Transit vans (big or little) you know the windshields are H U G E.

So, the van I was driving today got a new windshield yesterday, Safelite said it would be good to go this morning.
Run my first lap this morning, no issues. In between laps is almost an hour. So after I get loaded up and head out on second lap, once the engine got up to temp the entire NEW windshield shattered but stayed together.

😲

Glad I ain't paying for it. They have a fleet of 20 something vans and trucks and every single Transit has some kind of windshield issue.

Were you driving at the time?

However, it does sounds similar to something that happened on one of our Peterbilt single trucks a couple years back (work for a oil and fuel distributor).

Went to get it inspected and there was a small crack, no obstruction. They did not pass our inspection, so we replaced it. Driver took to get inspected. It passed, and about 30 miles down the road he calls saying the windshield just spiderwebbed on him. He swore nothing hit the window and the vehicle camera backed him up.

Crazy shit man.

Yes, was driving. It went into a bazillion pieces but stayed together. Needless to say, couldn't see shit.
I pulled over and called dispatch and waited for another van.

That would suck. I know our driver was a little nerved by it. He described it as sudden and startling.

Good thing you stayed composed. Well done sir!
