Another wave from Phoenix

Hello!

Most people in Phoenix seem to have given up waving cause there are so many Jeeps here! It really is a great place to live for access to trails. I'm a Phoenix native, grew up driving a CJ5 in the AZ mountains.

My 2015 JKUHR is nearly stock. Swapped to MCE fenders to run 285/70r17C Trail Grapplers with Spydertrax spacers and no lift. Planning an epic build... Will I have the balls to drop the cash?? Stay tuned...

Nice to meet you all.

Ben

Welcome to WayaLife from northern Scottsdale !!! You found a great forum for information on those future mods. I too, grew up in AZ driving a CJ-5 in the desert and mountains around Payson. Good luck on wave-backs... I get about 1 out of 6 on a good day, never a soccer mom stocker, just a few of the ones that look like they put a couple of mods into it...! Hope to see you out on the trail!

Haha. You should have seen what I did to the yellow 2-dr Willys. I stripped out all the plastic, carpet and rollbar padding to make it look as close as possible to my dad's yellow CJ-5. Then I wheeled it through the mud...

But yes, it was a little crazy to go doorless through the mud with my JKUHR. I got it clean... ish. But it took a LOT of work.

Great memories. I was in the Payson area a lot, and my parents live there now. Here's a pic from about 1991. I'm in the facemask... It was cold but awesome. We were chained up driving a rocky road in a foot of fresh snow.

Wave from Australia! Welcome to WAL.

I've got a billet silver JKURX and just used the pictures of your Jeep to convince the wife we need MCE fenders [emoji106] looks great!

Thanks man, I've always liked the MCE flares but she's been unconvinced on going with flat fenders. I was going to just cut the stock ones but she wasn't having a bar of it! Now she can see what it looks like I'm golden!

Here's mine
