I do like the shortened bumper better. I’ve been debating about that. But I’m afraid to go near it with a wrench because I know how deep that rabbit hole isFinally got around to installing a pair of KC ERA 4 LED combo lights on our 392. Being that we have the steel bumper, they bolted up with ease and I think they look pretty nice.
I should note that I did a quick test of the lights inside the garage and sure as anything, the lights are crazy bright but much to my surprise, the amber back lights are too. Or at least, way more bright than they used to be.
Here's a shot of what the old ERA 4 amber back lights look like on our Gladiator.

I'll try to take more pics later on this evening, if it doesn't rain or worse, snow
You’ll realize how much room there in the wheel wells with that shorty, next thing you known you’ll wake up with 60s and 40s hahaI do like the shortened bumper better. I’ve been debating about that. But I’m afraid to go near it with a wrench because I know how deep that rabbit hole is
Yup that’s why I stay away from it when my tool box is open I park it across the street. You’ll realize how much room there in the wheel wells with that shorty, next thing you known you’ll wake up with 60s and 40s haha
I’m thinking you could extend the camera mount out a bit to make the warning go away.Oh, another thing to note. Ever since installing our new big spare tire with a wheel that has a 3.5" of back spacing, the obstacle avoidance warning kicks off any time we put the transmission into reverse. Beeps like crazy and we see this blinking on the EVIC. Turns red when moving.
Of course, this is what the rear camera sees.

Thanks! It was almost like the bumper was made for these lights. There were already bolt holes and everythingNice, looks great man!
I dunno, sounds to me like you're already on your way downI do like the shortened bumper better. I’ve been debating about that. But I’m afraid to go near it with a wrench because I know how deep that rabbit hole is
So, on the old ERA 4s that I have, I don't think they would have been bright enough for blinkers but these new ones, I think they'd be great for it!Looks great! The backlight on those and the Bajas are pretty sweet. We are going to wire in the these backlights on a JL to the blinkers to see how it works out as he wants different fenders. Basically mount them on the bumper close to here the Jk’s are on the grill. We shall see! Looks great though.
Yeah, that would probably work but I'll most likely just turn off the obstacle avoidance system. As it is, I already hate how it kicks off anytime the sensors get too dusty or muddy.I’m thinking you could extend the camera mount out a bit to make the warning go away.
They are a LOT brighter for sure and enough so that they will provide illumination in front of you but I doubt they would be enough to be useful as fogs. The flex 4s look great! Glad they decided to brighten up the backlight ambers. Will make it easier to be seen on and off road. Eddie, do you think they are bright enough to act as a fog light?
LOL - glad I could be of helpOk, now another mod I need to add to the very SHORT list of mods for my 392…….
Well, going back to not wanting to mod this Jeep, I really don't want to wheel it hard enough to need a winch BUT...I’m waiting for the winch install…short bumper does look good
Do you know when they updated the Amber light? As much as I love my flex era 4s I thought the Amber light is weak, but I do have a set of sports I can’t decide if I want on my a pillar or bumper, might have to just install to see if the lights is betterThanks! Honestly, I didn't even know an update was made. I have mine connected to my rock lights and if I had known they were going to be this bright, I would have put them on a separate switch. In fact, I still might LOLDo you know when they updated the Amber light? I’ll most likely put a winch on mine…and hopefully only use it to help others…Yeah, that would probably work but I'll most likely just turn off the obstacle avoidance system. As it is, I already hate how it kicks off anytime the sensors get too dusty or muddy.

I do like the way a winch makes the front end of a Jeep look and for that, I'll most likely do it too. My concern was the weight and how much sag it typically causes, even with synth line. But hey, there's always ways to deal with that too LOLI’ll most likely put a winch on mine…and hopefully only use it to help others…
