Almost Tire Time

Trust me, more than a few of us have been there. Sucks for sure but better to figure it out and move on than to be in denial and keep dealing with it.

On a serious note, I'd put my prior behavior in the "dangerously irresponsible" category. The level of objectivity here can be almost painful (tho' always humorous) sometimes... but it literally saves lives.

Nope

He is likely talking about the Cherokee’s Pentastar which, by the way, is in fact advertised as a 3.2. Wranglers run the 3.6 Pentastar.

There is a 3.2L engine in the series, but unless my math skills have faded(possible), the 96 mm bore with 83 mm stroke is 3.60464 L with 6 cylinders.

These folks probably measured their dick starting at their asshole.

Keep telling yourself that. 2wd around town you'll be just fine. Kick it into 4wd and you're asking for trouble. It's your jeep and your money so honestly I don't care.

Start from the center of the asshole, twice around the balls, and just past the tip is the proper way to measure.

I’ve eliminated the Milestar just bc I want it to have more reviews. I’ve added the Maddie Trepador and Trepador competition tires to the debate. Does anyone run either of those Maxxis tires (on and off road) that would like to give an opinion. (We all love opinions)

It's a good looking tire with an aggressive tread and from what I've seen, they do well off road but, I can't say that I'm a real fan of a directional tread pattern. Also, I prefer not to run tires that aren't made in the USA.

Tires that can only be run in one direction really limit their rotationability, as mentioned.

Which, if you crawl rocks, isn't necessarily a bad thing.

I've Always swapped front to back on ALL my vehicles... To me it seamed the front always wears bad because of turning or bad alignment... so I move it to the back to straighten it out.... Never really saw the benefit of crossing sides. But then I could be doing it all wrong. :idontknow:

As most would, but if you look at how your tires wear, the front of the lugs wear at a slant and act like a claw. If you swap sides, it gets the tread back flat, but the claw-type wear actually helps grip the rocks a bit better.

As far as rotating the spare in, that's a guaranteed way to have to buy 5 tires... When you buy 4, rotate the spare in at that time so you always have a fresh spare and only have to buy 4 new tires.

Thats what I was thinking...BUT.... if by chance you ruin a tire... then you Have to rotate in the spare at that point... and now you have 1 New tire and 3 worn tires... Not sure my OCD could handle that. Lol

As they age, tires break down. Take a look at any unused but old spare. Rubber more brittle, starts to crack, etc. I’d rather cycle in the spare, get 20% longer use between having to buy new tires, then get five brand new ones instead of four new ones and one that’s old and suspect. Plus, what if you decide to go with another brand, or your last has been discontinued? Then you have mismatching tires? Too hillbilly for me.
