The day is starting out with a beautiful weather report....80 is the high and not a cloud in the sky. Everglades Aerojet here we come! :thumb:

Well we just got home from an awesome day wheeling to the rocket site. We tried to get there on the asphalt road leading to the site and made it through one roadblock only to find no way around another blocked path so we went in an another way down the side of a canal where we found our way in but it meant a mile or so though the swamp itself. I was the test subject on the first test of the depth of the water we would have to cross and all was good so we made our way out into no-mans land. We got about a 1/4 of a mile from the site when one of our jeeps was afraid of us all getting stuck and decided to turn back. I insisted we forge on to no avail and we aborted our attempt. :naw: I steadfastly believe we were golden! So on our next trip and there will be a next trip to the site we will make it through. My wife is editing the video and we'll post it up here as soon as she's done. On a positive note we made the run to the NIKE Missile site and got our tour so enjoy the pics of that lost piece of the Cuban missile crisis. There will also be a video of that as well.aerojet pictures 034.jpgaerojet pictures 037.jpgaerojet pictures 038.jpgaerojet pictures 040.jpgaerojet pictures 046.jpgaerojet pictures 047.jpgaerojet pictures 048.jpgaerojet pictures 049.jpgaerojet pictures 051.jpgaerojet pictures 052.jpgaerojet pictures 053.jpgaerojet pictures 054.jpgaerojet pictures 055.jpgaerojet pictures 056.jpgaerojet pictures 057.jpgaerojet pictures 058.jpgaerojet pictures 059.jpgaerojet pictures 060.jpgaerojet pictures 061.jpgaerojet pictures 062.jpg

Sweet. We have a few NIKE missile sites here in CT. nothing with tours though.... One near me is now a sub development. When I was a kid we would dirt bike up there, memories! Thanks!!

After the frame with the gator the two animals in the water were otters. They looked to be having a great time till we came along. A truly believe we coulda made it to the site. Next time there's no stopping us. It was an exciting trip heading out off the levy into the glades.

Looks like a lot of fun, hopefully I can make the next run. I did notice that with all the off white water your jeep repelled it once again :yup:.

LOL yeah I travel the same ground and don't get as dirty. The bridgstone's don't sling the mud all over the rig. My buddy in the orange crush was so afraid I was gona get stuck he turned back. I didn't feel like I was having any issues at all. Being the only one with a winch I felt good about my chances of going the distance. Notice the power poles? I coulda used them to advance or retreat......Not worried at all. In the coming weeks we'll take another stab at it. ;)

Just wanted to say thanks for getting together and making this happen Ed........I had a great time getting and exploring with you, Jill, and Paul.....everything worked out except for the traverse across but we will make the site next time around (maybe with keys).....we also can take a ride through the park down to Flamingo.....Loop Road is another idea.....should make Tower Shoppes Friday night.....

Yeah we had a great time too. I'm sure we would have made it across that water but it all worked out with getting the tour of the Nike missile site. You're surveying skills are a thing of legend to Jill and I. laugh out loud

Who's interested in making this run? I'd love to get a bunch of us out there and explore all the buildings. :thumb:
