Auto correct got you. It’s Breezewood.
She’s a beaut! Good luck and congrats!
Not sure. Can you take that apart and roll it so they match?
If nothing else maybe I can spin it with a drill to the appropriate mileage.
Repair. There are disc kits but I want to keep it as original as possible. Are you wanting to upgrade the brakes or just repair them?
I bet that would work!
Why does the new speedometer only go up to 60? Are they trying to tell you something?I spent some time driving the Willys around the neighborhood this weekend and getting a feel for it. While it is in fantastic shape there are a few things I need/want to tweak. Of course!
A few items I’d like to address:
Brakes
Carb
Diff fluid change
Fuel bowl gasket
The brakes definitely need some work!
The carb has a leak and drips on the exhaust manifold.![]()

Apparently there were two different carburetors used and mine has the Carter

I ordered the following parts:
Carb rebuild kit
Diff gaskets
Fuel bowl gasket
Air intake gaskets
Brake pads
As busy as I am it’s very relaxing and enjoyable to wrench on this Jeep. Everything is basic and simple. There is plenty of room to work and no computers.
When I bought the Jeep the previous owner include several boxes of new and old parts. In that box I found the original speedometer.

Once the parts arrive I’ll get to work.
Just don’t pull a Ferris Bueller by jacking up the rear end and running it in reverse lolNot sure.![]()
Great recommendation though.

Jesus Christ - 60 or above would be terrifying in one of these! Would they even top out at 60?Why does the new speedometer only go up to 60? Are they trying to tell you something?
It’s not that bad. I had the DJ up to 70 before. What’s scary is when you see you have to stop and hoping that the brakes work lolJesus Christ - 60 or above would be terrifying in one of these! Would they even top out at 60?
