12' Gecko Build

Nice truck, what’s the towing capacity on those? Will you be able to tow your Jeep with the F150?
So since mine is the 16'with the gen 1 eco boost and the 6 speed transmission, equipped with the max tow package I have a max of 11.5k. The newest ones with the gen 2 motor and the 10 speed are up to 12.2k I believe now.

But either way yeah it should pull the jeep just fine.

It's not really yours if you don't mount 'em yourself. 🙄🤣

There are a few things in life I'm 100% ok with paying someone else to do, mounting and balancing tires is one of those Haha.
It's all your fault anyways seeing you put on the 37s made me need them too!!!!

Awesome, enjoy. I’ll probably get a tow rig down the road as well, thanks for the info.

Thanks guys I'm getting pretty excited to move on to the next step.

So deconstruction / reconstruction began tonight. I got the 2" push rides put in up front to check the height. I may end up throwing the 3/4" spacers up front on top of them but as of right now I'm going to leave it and see what the 37s look like with just them. Here are some pics of the progress. The tape measure represents about where the 37s should sit. My main concern that's not addressed yet is how center my front axle is with using the stock track bar in the non raised position on my pr44

The front should be pretty simple and to caveat the tape measure only half of what's above the tire will actually take up space since the center of the wheel will also move up. The only thing really left to do up front is check on the centering of the axle and contemplating a DL flip or not, I'm leaning towards not.

The rear is where the bulk of my work is. I have the OME springs and longer brake lines ordered. I may or may not need longer sway bar links. My rear shocks are still stock length ranchos but I have rock stars that I'm hoping will help for the time being. And then I have the rear axle centering to worry about as well. Not sure if I'm going to go raised bracket or adjustable track bar or anything at all really.

Being that I ordered 13.50 coopers I am almost certain I'm going to need spacers for my 4.5" backspace rims but i kinda want to mount them first just to see what clearance issues i do have.

And then of course I'm gonna need to bust out the angle grinder and cut cut cut. Pinch seams and rubi rails I know are gonna need trimming and im thinking my stock rear bumper is gonna have to go. Bumperless for the time being and maybe evo facia soon after.

The 2" Plush Rides gave me about 3" and I have a heavy front bumper and a 12k winch. I run my track bar in the factory location and haven't flipped my drag link and even with the 3/4" spacer I just added, it doesn't look or feel like I'll need to. I probably should measure my axle center, but if it's off, it isn't visually noticable... At least to my shitty eyes. 😎

I don't know how the PR44 differs from stock as far as the bracketry goes, so I guess you'll have to put it together and see how it works out for you. My concern would be the bump stop without the spacer... From the photo above, it looks like you won't have much uptravel but photos can be deceiving.

Are you going to raise your rear any more or is the back done?

You posted this while I was writing my last response. 🤣

With the 13.5s you're definitely gonna need wheel spacers. I was worried about my front when I decided to run them, but when I was tearing down the rear, I noticed that my sway links - that had been inboarded to get away from hitting the wheels - have been rubbing on my brake line fittings so the spacers will allow me to flip them back out. I'm only running 12 5s on my 4.5BS wheels... The 13.5s will look really beastly! 👍

Ah I missed that you just added the 3/4" spacer as well. I definitely know I'm not going to get much up travel but being a 2 dr I want to keep it as low as possible. I still plan on mounting the 37s without the spacers just to see what I get before making the call. And honestly just visually my axle looks pretty dang center to me as well so I'm thinking i may not need to mess with it.

And in regards to the spacers im 99% positive im going to need them so I think im just going to buy them and have them ready, looking at your pictures it doesn't look crazy stupid wide it looks really good actually.

Yeah, I felt the same way about the wheel spacers. They don't look bad at all, and they do seem to make the Jeep feel more stable.

Looking forward to seeing your rig put together! 🍻

Front height looks pretty good, I'm still waiting on spacers in the mail but I couldn't not put them on just to see. I still have a ton of work to do in the rear and apparently ALOT of cutting Haha

You're gonna lift the rear some more, right?
