Cool area and nice pics. That camera was greatā¦ I had a fujifilm at that time, used to love that thing.
Sweet....very clear and beautiful picsEXPLORING THE MOJAVE DESERT
One of the first trips we went on with our all new Sony Cybershot F707, was out to a part of the Mojave Desert that Cindy and I loved (unfortunately, it is no longer open to vehicular traffic) and because of it's unique and colorful rock formations. And, as luck would have it, we had a few of our wheeling friends join us including Dave and Karen in their gen 1 Nissan Pathfinder, Matt in his Isuzu Vehicross and Vince and his family in his 4-banger TJ.
Here we are after hopping off the pavement and airing down.

With the sun getting lower in the sky and shadows starting to creep in, it was time to move on.

It's hard to imagine now but just a couple of decades ago, ranchers still ran cattle out here.

Some of you will recognize where we're at in these pics.

Unfortunately, Memory Sticks weren't cheap back then and so I had to limit the amount of pics I could take. Needless to say, that's all the pics I have for this trip but I hope you enjoyed the few I posted up and the slightly higher quality of them![]()
Love to see that TJ and all of the landscapesā¦It's been tough looking for these old pics but I did find a few more. And, while the quality of the pics are much better, the size of them were a lot bigger and the means to store them a lot more expensive. Needless to say, there are a lot fewer to share with you. Anyway, the following are from a wheeling trip we did up in the Sierra Nevada Mountains and where a bit of rock crawling was involved.
WHEELING IN THE SIERRA NEVADA MOUNTAINS
These pics are from a fun trail we used to run back in the day as it was short, had a bit of rock crawling and was always pretty in the summer. For a time, the whole thing was closed due to erosion concerns and then a fire and so we haven't been back in quite some time. May need to see if it's open again.
Here we are coming up to a fun part of the trail.

Here's the one and only real obstacle on the trail and as you can see, there had been some road building going on

Fortunately, a bit further up was some fun that could still be had without having to unstack rocks.

Sadly, that's all the pics that I have from this trip from past. Hope you enjoyed seeing them just the same![]()
