Speedy Cracker the 392

I picked up a Dometic CFX5 35L fridge. They were on sale recently and I saved a couple hundred dollars.

Eventually it will be hard wired in but for now I’ll just plug it in to the port in the cargo area. It will carry many delicious beverages on our upcoming adventure.

The Dometic stuff is nice. They're big in the RV/Travel Trailer industry and their stuff seems to hold up well. Wife's trailer was built in 2017 or 18 I think and all the appliances are still going strong.

I have a hard time justifying the pricing on the ARB version. They're nice too but IDK if they're worth the premium

Same. I have the ARB in my JK and it’s been great, but I won that during an ARB sponsored trail at EJS- so the price was right.

I thought I’d try the Dometic and with the sale it was a no brainer. Will report back on how cold my beer stays.

I have the CF35 Dometic, use it with their PLB40 battery.
the plb40 charges while I drive, when the Jeep is off, the plb keeps the cooler going.
I used the dual plug hard wire with the screw in 12v outlets.
tried a bluetti but the 12v plug wouldn't stay in and it wouldn't charge properly when driving

Great info, thanks for sharing that. I will probably do that same set up.

The dometic’s are nice. We sell a lot of them. They do make a hardwire kit for when your ready to do that

We are racking up some miles on Speedy Cracker on this trip. It has been a please to drive and eats up the miles. We have had it up to 99 mph which is the top speed allowed by the Non XR computer.

The 35-inch Nitto Ridge Grapplers, the 4.56 gears and the firmer Clayton Off-Road springs have made it a pleasure to drive on the Interstate and on curvy secondary highways.

We maintained a slower average speed today so the average MPG is better.

I have put about 7,000 miles on the 392 during this trip so it’s time to rotate the tires. Once again Eddie and Cindy are a lifesaver and let me use their garage.

I could not be happier with this Jeep. The 4.56 gears, the stiffer springs, and the 35-inch Nitto Ridge Grapplers have really made this machine an absolute pleasure to drive. The highway miles roll by and doing 85 to 95 is effortless. For me, this is the perfect road Jeep. It’s my go to for our cross country trips. The 392 is the motor that all Wranglers should come with.

The JK is still my go to for off-road and always will be, however for pavement pounding the 392 is awesome.

During our latest adventure we put over 12,000 miles on Speedy Cracker. The modifications made to date have really added to the driving pleasure of the vehicle. It’s smooth and powerful on the highway and effortlessly eats up the miles. The Dometic Fridge is super convenient and appears to be very effective in keeping beverages cold.

I changed the oil, rotated tires, changed differential lube, and replaced air filters as needed. Sometimes this meant changing the oil in a random parking lot and sometimes maintenance was performed in a more enjoyable location like Eddie’s totally baller Jeep garage! (Thanks again Eddie!)

I love this Jeep!!

Changing the differential fluid. (Don’t over tighten the bolts! 😂)
