Y’all pray for some miracles

Overnight massive flash floods in Central Texas. Young girls at Camp Mystic on the Guadalupe River were swept away. Some have been rescued. Not all. Girls that are missing are about the same age as my daughter. I just can’t fathom.
Tragic, lifting those families in prayer.

Shit just happened in the middle of the night. One of the counselors at Camp Mystic said she woke up to water over her bed in the cabin. They started pushing girls out of the windows.

14 inches of rain in some places.

Hopefully this tragedy will result in functional alerting systems in known danger areas, along with signage and some training for camp attendees so they will know what to do. Something which was new to me after getting a place in the Arizona mountains is a highly functional emergency notification system, which informs about fires and likely flooding. In Dallas there are tornado sirens, but otherwise communication about storm danger seems to come via TV stations.

This tragedy is entirely the fault of Texas government, and particularly at the county, and camp admistrator levels.
