wow

It is a very cool idea I like it alot I don't know about using it as an extra gas tank though someone hits you from behind or for some reason it starts to leak right near your exhaust not good lol I wonder if it is air tight enough for water could it be used as an air tank for oba?

The guy who made it claims that when full, he and a buddy bounced around on the bumper (400lbs) and everything was fine. Besides, you wouldn't drive around town with it full, just on a trip.

I would wonder if using it as a gas tank is even safe?
I realize that it would be used on the trail. But as current gas prices, u get a leak u talking $30 down the drain. No to mention having a gas leak and the safety issue that might cause.
Yes, then there's the whole environmental issue to be concerned with.
Gas leaking in a stream or something. I wouldn't want to be that guy...

I doubt you could legally put gas in your rear bumper. As for air I think the pressure would be too much. 200lbs would probably blow the fittings out of plastic.

I think he's got a cool idea for the type of stuff he does in the area he is in. I doubt he is worried about ripping it off while driving down the beach. It would be great to have a pressurized camp shower. Park the bumper in the sun and it would be heated. Also, add a couple daiquiris and you have a wet t-shirt contest ready to happen.

Great ingenuity. Love the creativity and an awesome idea. Skirmish I couldn't agree more with ya!

Awesome!! Nice design sure beats the hand pump water tank built into my AEV bumper. Only problem is I know those stock bumpers take a beating out on the trail. I have yet to see a stock bumper without some sort of damage when used on difficult trails. However everyone has their own purpose for their jeep so for some people this design would work fantastic.

No offense but whoever mentioned it as a gas tank, that's a really stupid idea. There is a reason regulations moved gas tanks to the side of the vehicle and you talking about putting it even further back and more exposed. That just seems like a time ticking disaster waiting to happen.

i think i was the one to mention it. i said for out on the trail. my thinking was for long "overlanding" journys that would might want to bring some extra fuel with you. kinda fits along the same lines as having a jerry can on the back of your jeep. just a stupid thought

Still would never catch me doing it. Maybe for an emergencies sake but then again I don't even like carrying gas in my fuel caddy behind the spare tire and its more "protected" than an open bumper.
