When you're ready for manual quick discos, skip the TerrorFlex brand, spend a few $$$ more and get JKS discos. I've run both and the JKS brand is far superior. The latter are adjustable as well to get that perfect sway bar angle.

My two cents agrees with most others, comms is, not a necessity, but for group leaders a means to pass word without stopping all the time and delaying the push forward. Plus there's some fun skuttlebutt that goes on. Completely not related, but whats the most important thing for the military....coms.
