I have no experience with either, but wouldn't aluminum control arms be more prone to bend and/or get elongated holes at the joints vs steel arms?

I run solid 7075 aluminum lower link bars. People use aluminum for its bend memory. Aluminum will bend a few inches and retain its original shape, steel/DOM will bend and stay in place of the bend.
