Wild Wild West : 2013 JK-Experience Mega Thread

Sucks but, something I've seen a lot of - one of the reasons I really don't like the AEV drop brackets.

Sounds like it's time to upgrade to one of your long arm kits. :yup:

Having the AEV drop brackets can cause the frame side mount to fail?

Of course they can. As you have just heard, Chris is already tearing off his factory mount and without the help of drop brackets that place your control arms closer to the rocks and add more leveraging force to the already weak mounts.

Yeah, they'd probably break or fall off the first time you took it on a dirt road.

I know they are pretty durable. Just didn't want to take a chance. I wheels my jeep stock pretty hard and they held up fine lol, except on bent just a tad

Well. Just finished some of my shopping list. New coilovers ordered, one to get rebuilt being sent off this week, new links for sway bars considering both snapped on both sides, then a crap load of grinding. Also noticed the splines on the driveshaft look a little twisted. When all is said and done i should be right at 4.25 inch lift. Also have a lot more to go through before all is done.. Gonna be an expensive month.

I'm pretty sure what you do in your jeep is cool. But honestly, It can't be anything close to what Mel puts the jeeps through on 7 straight days of the JKX.
