Which pickup should I buy?

I should also clarify - this has stemmed from my dwindling desire to get a Gladiator thanks to what is becoming of Jeep, their lack of longevity, and the reality and realization that I'd be much better off with a real truck alongside my Jeep.
The Gladiator is still a fun truck but to me, it's more of a Wrangler than a real truck. If you have a real need for a truck, I think you would be better off with just that.

Nope lol. Don't need a full size. Definitely more of a want and it's unlikely I'll actually tow the Jeep. I've got numerous friends with 2nd and 3rd gen Tacomas and they're great trucks, but I personally feel cramped inside (that's saying something being that I'm 5' 8") and don't like the driving position. Other Midsize truck ideas or insight would be appreciated though, open to them for sure.

For me to get a Tacoma, it's gonna have to be a first gen.

Lol, when I was your age this was the setup to have

Since I'm open to midsize trucks as well, I opened the thread up to both midsize and half ton pickups haha. The Tacoma is great looking and obviously reliable, but its interior space/driving position has me looking elsewhere. I have pretty good experience with the last two generations of the Colorado/Canyon but am not too familiar with their powertrain options. Have no experience with Rangers, so any experience with any midsize trucks as well as full size is still appreciated!

Sorry to say this is not just a Jeep issue. The crazy push to increase fuel mileage and decrease so called greenhouse emissions has led to using lighter and lighter components and trying to squeeze hp out of undersized power plants alongside more and more computer controls on every aspect of a vehicle which as we’re seeing is causing nightmare problems and decreased longevity.

Yup. Hence why I want an older used vehicle. Really don't ever see myself ever buying a brand new vehicle.

I really like the Colorado and if the Gladiator weren't available, it's probably what I would have considered getting. Hard not to love a Tacoma and they really hold their value well but they always seem so underpowered or at least, to me anyway. I don't think you could go wrong with either IF a play truck is what you're wanting.

Again, if a REAL truck is what you're needing, there is no substitute for a full size 1500.

Agreed! Definitely leaning towards a REAL truck (y)
