Which Game Camera

Ok, not the game camera but these three little dudes were attempting to breach my raccoon proof (?) woodpecker feeder and eating the birdseed my Lovely Wife throws out in the yard. They live under my mower shed and make numerous appearances.

Target practice or are they not that much of a bother?

About to buy a tacticam. I see a 3 watt and a 7.5 watt. What one does everyone have?
I have the Reveal X Pro. Just looked on Amazon and it's 1.5 watts.

Are you looking at the new 3.0s? I know there is the 3.0x and the 3.0 pro. Both have some newer features than mine but not sure the difference between the two.

Yeah I saw that video. Was tough to watch. The wattage difference is the x vs pro. What do you have the 2.0?
I have the reveal x pro. It's the model before the 3.0s.

If I were buying right now, I'd go with the 3.0 pro. It's literally the same price as the x pro I bought last December and has more features. And the 3.0 pro doesn't require an SD card (some cost savings there).

And if you get a solar panel in a sunny area, you won't have to deal with any battery issues.

Yeah I just saw even the 2.0 is like $20 cheaper. I have a lot of SD cards but not needing one is nice. Sun is tough in my area because of trees. Probably just end up getting spare battery packs. Do they come with rechargeable battery packs or just the battery tray for disposables?

You can buy Tactacam rechargeable lithium packs. I have 3. They're about 50 bucks.

But I think the hme battery lasts longer. It requires a cord adapter but I can send you one. I got like 20 when I ordered it. Even if you don't get sun on the panel, the battery lasts longer than tactacam's.

Yup, what WJCO said. I have the same and I think the recommendations he's made is what I would do too. Being that these will be on your property, I think extra battery packs will work out fine. Although, the cameras don't need a full day of sun to recharge with solar so there's that too. I'm using a big Moultrie solar panel with mine and they're always charged up.

I saw those ones. Think that’s more than I need.

If what you have now just has a few pictures a day, any battery will be decent but if you're putting it like over a corn pile, you can get hundreds of pictures in a day with coons and birds, etc. Especially as it's colder and the critters move more. You could have to change/charge batteries every week.

It’s depends who’s asking whether or not it’s over corn. lol

Can you charge the battery packs outside the camera with a cord or do they need a charging dock?

Outside the camera with a usb-c cord. I think the cord comes with it.

I usually have a charged one ready then swap them out and bring the dead one inside to charge.
