The excess play allowed it to contact the upper track bar mount, made the steering very sloppy and threw the steering wheel off center. But from what you described the joint may still be good. It’s probably just a tolerance issue between the track bar and track bar mount. I would still drop the track bar anyway and inspect the joint, if you can easily move it around and there is play in it. Then it may be time to replace it.

Thank you for the insight, it has been very helpful. I escalated the issue to ORE and EVO, they are helping me get this corrected.

I’ll be honest, I didn’t track the net lift change from stock to current state. Wasn’t overly concerned, I knew EVO’s would be taller than 2.5”, but considering how long this beast is.. not a bad problem to have for trail use.

Yes these are diesel specific springs; they call them “HD”.
 
Maybe, we will see. Never had an issue of hitting myJK EVO bumper in that place. I’m doing more exploring than I am crawling at this moment in my life, if that changes I’ll reconsider. For now, I like the look and they are easy to access for adjustment.

Rock Slider steps going on next Wednesday; will post some pics when complete. Interested to see how we like them; EVO sliders were my first choice as far more affordable and more tightly tucked to the body, but the wife won this battle as she is tired of how tall it sits without a step… and, I didn’t want to lower the Jeep any as I might try out 38’s next year.

Amazing shot. Really enjoy photography as well. Just wish lenses weren’t so expensive lol. The Rockslide Engineering steps are pretty nice and can still take a good hit.

Agreed, it is very frustrating - the cost of camera gear. I buy all my stuff used and it helps, but still wildly expensive.

I’ve noticed that about the Rockslide Eng. steps and that’s why I was willing to give them a go. My wife and I intend to go 60’s/40’s in two years when the rig is paid off and knew we would absolutely desire a step then.

Just trying to avoid buying parts twice. All things subject to change but do desire to go 40’s as I got a taste of them once before and haven’t been able to forget.
