What would be the benefit of carrying 1/4, 3/8 and 1/2 in or any combination of the three as opposed to just carrying one size since you can pretty much cover the 10mm-21mm in 1/2 inch drive?

I know I had to use a 1/4 inch ratchet and extension while replacing my oil pan due to the tight area between the skid and the transmission. I don't carry 1/4" stuff day to day, but you never know when you're going to need to work in a tight spot.
