Never mind, I looked closer at the picture, it looked like the seem expanded and broke up but i can clearly see now that's where it was trimmed . Lol [emoji2357]

I thought mine needed a good vacuuming, but yours takes the cake!

Yesterday, I sucked 2 quarts out of the transmission with a vampire pump and replaced with fresh fluid. 2nd time in 3 months.

So today I decided to replace the leaky upper engine oil pan gasket on my 3.8l. So tore it down and noticed that I hit a rock lately which slightly dented the steel part of the pan near the drain. So I figured since it’s out, I’ll gently massage the dent. So, after “massaging” the pan, reinstalled everything, added engine oil, then before I fired it up, I glanced underneath and see a six inch puddle of fresh oil. Crap! Upon closer inspection, the oil pan cracked where I massaged it. S@$T. So drained the oil, removed the sheetmetal pan to weld up tomorrow. IMG_9733.jpg
I drilled out the ends of the crack to prevent future spreading (see red circle). I’m now concerned with this other “ridge” (see green circle), so I’ll build it up on the inside to hopefully prevent a future crack. IMG_9730.jpg

Looks like I need to install a oil pan skid in the near future.

When i used to be into the “lowered” car scene we used to weld on 3/16 to 1/2” steel plates to the bottom of the pans as armor if you’re worried about whacking it again. Since you’ll be there anyways 🤷🏻*♂️

Still going back and forth. If I can get a cheap low mile 3.6 I might go that route to see what the new LT4 does in the next year to two. Not doing anything until probably January though because that’s when wheeling trips usually slow down for a couple months.

Had the jeep in the shop for fluid change and good once over before it goes back in to storage.

I picked up the Genright quick disconnect steering wheel kit and so far I dig it.
It was not a plug-and-play instal as some modification and fabrication was required for the unit for it to fit on my '09 clock spring. Turn signal stalk stays, while cruise and horn are gone.

pay no mind to the excessive PRP logo use. I'll handle that later.
