What rear bumper/ tire carrier?? Opinions please!

I though PS came out with a Bumper/carrier recently. it was tied into the tailgate door and opened with the door latch itself..

Their rock brawler II is tied in with the tailgate. It is an awesome bumper I just wanted more of the evo/or fab design which is the one posion spyder told me they were designing.

Nor I. I found a concept style one online and spoke with Rick and he told me about it. They are a very helpful bunch of guys.

Is it a new version of the Stinger for the T/L/Y/CJ that they have, but for the JK?

If so, it's not a side opener, but a lift up/down to acces sthe tail door. Not very good for a daily driver that wants to access the back with the top on...

He was pretty vague about the details but I'm sure it will be a smart design.

Very true, I'd be going with their gear over the EVO stuff but for the fact I live in a harsh climate 70%+ of the year and want to tuck my whinch into the bumper and not have it so exposed on the top of the bumper like all of their designs. I wish they would make a mid Brawler with bars with a submerged winch housing...

ARB Rear Bumper Combo?

Seanb33, have you considered the ARB bumper/tire carrier combo?
http://www.quadratec.com/products/12000_1011.htm

This is the one on my shopping list for it's integrated d-ring mounts, jack mounting points, light weight, ability to use my OEM hitch, & one handed operation (The wheel carrier opens automatically when the vehicle tailgate is opened). If anyone on this thread has one, please post why you love/hate it.

What about a unit from ShrockWorks out of Texas?

I've never personally had one, but they come recommended from my local Jeep Group.

Those are both nice looking bumpers. The new poison spyder one opens with the tailgate as well if you weren't aware. Thanks for your info and let me know which one you go with! I'd love to see your jeep with it

I didn't know the poison Spyder one also opened one handed. I'm leaning towards the ARB unit partially to match the front ARB bumper I'm running and partially b/c I've used their products on two Wranglers now, and have not been disappointed.

^^^ I don't think it's quite that much. Maybe including I stall, but these bumpers can be self install.

I wish EVO had an option without the qtr panels.

But for now I'm leaning GenRight if I got the money, and then OrFab. I think the ORFab without can or rotopak won't stick out too far and doable with 37s. Not sure though and thus still researching as well.

GCM2 ran a 40 on his orfab. And I believe it's like a grand for the genright.

Edit: $799 for steel and $899 for aluminum.

I ended up going with the Ace 2nd gen bumper with tire carrier. I wanted one that was single action, but put the carrier on the bumper, and it will fit up to a 38.

I also like that the bumper only came in to the rear quarter panels, and cut outs for LED lights

It also sits real close to the vehicle which was another requirement I had.

as far as pricing on the Gen Right stuff your looking at:
Steel Bumper - $499.99
Aluminum Bumper - $599.99
Steel Tire Carrier - $799.99
Aluminum Tire Carrier - $899.99

so about $1300-$1500 is a good quote for both bumper and carrier

Ah yeah forgot about the bumper. I was looking at just the carrier.

Same here. Was talking just carrier not w/bumper

Was it 40s back then? I thought that was with with his 37 Goodyear kevlars. But you might be right. I know it can work, just not just I want tire sticking out so far with the can/roto version. They have another model that sits it closer. After all, I think GCM backed his into wall/rock/pole or something like that. Maybe cuz it was sticking out too far. Lol.

My two top choices were EVO and poison spider. I needed the quarter armor and low profile light. I went with EVO just because i already had the dring mount.
