Waving in from Las Vegas

Hey everyone! My name's Mike. Just ordered a new '14 JK Unlimited Rubicon and I am anxiously awaiting its arrival. Why order one you ask? Well I needed some time to put my current car (Nissan 370Z) back to stock in order to sell it so I figured I might as well order one exactly the way I want it. As a race car driver by trade, I am coming from 10 years of sports cars as daily drivers so the JK will be a big change for me. I am extremely excited about it though and looking forward to learning a whole new side of the automotive world as well as entirely new driving techniques off-road!

Mods on the JK are planned, but I want to make sure I learn a lot about my new daily driver first which is why I have signed up for these forums. Like I am sure many others did, when I started looking into the JK as a possible new daily driver I went to YouTube where I found the Wayalife channel. I am pretty sure I have watched every video on there from the day it was launched and continue re-watching them as I wait for my Jeep to make its way through the assembly plant.

Anyways, if you guys have any must-do or must-know things pertaining to the JK let me know!

Thank you!

Also, since I am completely new to the off-road scene. Does anyone happen to know good trails in or around Las Vegas for beginners/stock JKUR?

Greetings and Welcome! There are some fun trails in the Logandale area. There are also several Las Vegas guys on here that you may want to get to know.

Welcome! Lots of Vegas Valley peeps on these forums, and lots of trails near, far, easy and hard to explore.

Hi Mike. Welcome to Wayalife and congrats on your new Jeep. There are quite a few trails around town and tons within a couple hours from the valley. I hope you take delivery before it gets too hot :D but then we can always do night runs.
Check out http://www.warmachines702.com in the forum section under future runs to see if anyone is going to hit a trail. Usually someone will put something together for the upcoming weekend.

Welcome, wave back from Henderson/Vegas! Look us up if you're up to getting together for a run, always looking for others to get out with together.

Welcome to WayaLife from across the river. Lots of WayaLifer in the Vegas area, check this forum's 'Up Coming Trips and Events' as they are posting runs quite often. Good luck with the new Jeep and the future mods...The mod bug will get you!!!

Welcome! :standing wave:
There are a lot of Vegas peeps on here. I try to get my rig down there a couple times a year. Maybe we'll wheel together sometime. There are a lot of fun places to wheel down there. Potato Ridge is a great run and one of my favorites.
