So basically throw a hunk of ground meat on the flat top and go. Im guessing this method wouldn't really work on a grill..haha.

Just realized what you referred to as a spatula is in fact a flipper or pancake turner. A spatula it the rubble utensil used for scraping batter from a bowl...haha.
