Realistically, could you turn 40s with 5.13s with the 8 speed transmission? Maybe on the trails in 4 low, but on the pavement?

On a JL? Oh yeah. The all new 8-speed automatic transmission can push 37's on 4.10 gears without any problems. I'm totally tempted to give it a try but have a feeling I'll break something :crazyeyes:

Hardness & toughness are more important than girth.
Seems people understand this when yak'n about drive shafts...

Axle tubes matter. Gimme great steel, not phat pipe!

Enjoyed the video. Makes me feel good that I have a prorock 44 up front [emoji16]. Are the rear stock JK axle tubes the same diameter and thickness as the front? I’m too lazy to measure lol.

Actually, the JK rear axle was always pretty decent or at least, for a semi-float being that it was a true 44. As in, it has 3" tubes. The JL is the same and up to 37's, I would think most people could make it work for quite a while.

Well, there's no gear oil in it but I do think it's lubed with a grease kinda like the sway bar disco motor.
