VIDEO : FIX A FLAT - How to Plug a Punctured Tire with Ease

I’m glad you made this video. I had a nail in my tire a while back and plugged it using this kit with what I thought was the right way. I did seal the leak but I was missing a few step. Now I know how to use it correctly[emoji1303]

Lol! My Dad would run that tire until it was worn out! Great video. I enjoyed seeing the new pup, too.

So would I, or more like, so have I.

I've known how to plug a tire for what seems like ages, but something about Eddie's videos makes me watch them to the end, and there was the bonus footage this time of the newest member of the Wayalife family, being cute as ever.

What is it with new tires that they seem to be a magnet for screws, nails, and other debris. When I got my Cooper's, within the first month, I already had a good sized screw in one.

Just like the video, out came the plug kit and ten minutes or less later, it was good as new.

Whether it's caused by a nail, screw, renegade branch or other sharp and pointy object, a flat tire caused by a puncture is something that most of us have to deal with at some point and time especially if you take your Jeep off road. And, while it can be a bummer, it is at least something that can be fixed quickly and with relative ease. The best part is, so long as the hole is located on the tread, the repair will be good enough that you won't have to think about again. In this short video, you'll get to see just how easy it is to locate a leak and how to fix it yourself using a tire plug.

Nice video Eddie. I like the part that holds the plug in place when removing the tool. Usually I just pull it out really fast. Man that’s just sounds wrong. [emoji23]

Any pros or cons to using a drill bill as opposed to the reamer?

With a drill bit, you may get out of line of the original injury, and if you do, the plug will miss the original hole and plug the new one you made.

They may both be in the same place at the surface, and the plug may stop the leak, or it may start leaking again after the tire starts to flex.

Using the hand reamer, it is almost impossible to miss the original hole.

Great video, I always learn something new! I bought the Wynnsky set a couple years ago when you recommended it and it has been great.

Thanks [emoji106]

Great video! And although the process is simple it’s still nice to see it done before it’s needed instead of when you’re forced to do it on the trail.
