Im up for a convoy to Austin! I'll go either way, I just prefer I10 to 71 to avoid he construction. but friday afternoon shouldnt be bad. I still have to figure out a plan to sneak out of work early...

I haven't run into much construction at all lately but I have never driven the north of Austin to MF so I cannot attest to traffic there. If anybody knows the best route to MF from the east side of Austin I'll go with that otherwise I will just follow my nav.

I can meet you somewhere on 290. I will take Hwy6 to 290. Maybe somewhere there?

My interview is at 9 AM. So I plan on being there for 2-3 hours cause the interview time after the one I scheduled is at 1 PM so I should be out with enough time to go home change, get the dogs in the car and then trail behind you guys and possibly either meet up along the way or meet up at Walmart / the restaurant we have set for the group for sure. Depending how traffic is.

Who knows...we may be able to actually wait up a bit or something. I'll give you my cell if you want so you can keep me updated.

Usually Hempstead but Brenham would work too. I do have to admit I will be going slower with the trailer, 65-70mph tops. If I'm slowing you down no reason to wait up.

We should have plenty of time so going slow shouldn't be a problem. 290 goes through both so which ever is easier for you.

So since Dave has his interview and won't be making the trip up does anybody want to convoy still? I normally take and prefer 290. I was planning on leaving my house (249/1960 general area) at 1200. Make a stop at Buccees (duh) at Mueschke and 290 on the way. Head straight for the walmart which is roughly 3 hours from my house. Leaves some time for a pit stop, meeting up, etc.

I'm always up for convoys.

I'll second that. Avoid it as much as possible. Unfortunately we live very close to down town, but plan on getting out early enough Friday before it gets too bad.

I'll be headed INTO downtown friday to pick up my Dad. they live in the 360 building... FML Traffic... I'm HOPING it won't be that bad at ~2:30... but with ACL, it's hard to tell...

I just talked to him, he is planning on catching the airport shuttle, so I can pick him up at baggage claim at Austin International, which means I will be going i10 to 71. Not with the convoy on 290. Sorry guys.

I have lived in Austin my whole life the best way to get to marble falls on a FRIDAY, ACL FRIDAY is hwy 71 most all construction is done you can take toll from Hwy 290 to hwy 71 nearly straight to marble falls from there.

We may do that if people are ok with tolls. I was through Austin today from N.B. and traffic was more or less normal. Went to the capitol. The only freeways I remember are 290 and 35. Been there countless times yet I pretty much don't know the city's layout.

Yeah fridays in Austin have gotten so bad past couple years and then add in 50 thousand people driving into it on the same day. Toll would be worth it to me to avoid that crap. Let me know if yall need anything.
