Well yeah, you're only driving 40 mph... [emoji23] I started driving mine no more than 65 and I'm getting about 16. Once I break that though it's about 13-14.
That's the average, I haven't reset it at all. :thumb:

500 mile gear break in is done! Average MPG is hanging out right about 16.4. Time to go wheeling!!
The evo mount that goes on the rear tire carrier is easy to use. I have one I'd give you but it's down south and I won't be able to get to it before the weekend.
I don't even know what I need I guess, because I don't want to ground the tire carrier (at least I don't think so) I want to ground the antenna to the tub (ground plane?). So I guess I need a "stud mount" "spring" and an 18ft coax? What is there to look at in a coax? Is it like speaker wire where different options exist and make a big difference? Simmilar to the sound quality difference between "monster cable" speaker wire vs a walmart brand? Or am I over thinking it?
Go to the nearest truck stop and they have all the shit you need. There was a Pilot travel center nearby when I did mine and I found everything I needed there. And yes you are overthinking it. 18 ft is enough.
Steer clear of the meth head lot lizards.

I just ordered everything I need (I think) yesterday. I ordered an 18' coax off Amazon for like $7, the Evo antenna mount for the gate, 3' Firestik and a quick disco for it.
And yes, steer clear of the lot lizards...Or don't lol.
I've heard this but have yet to check one out!
Link to coax?
Lot lizards? They're nasty bro.
I've heard this but have yet to check one out! I'm assuming they have everything other than the actual specific mounts to the Jeep?
Bubba is the second person to tell me to check out a truck stop. I've never been to one... should be an interesting experience I guess... I was hoping to get everything amazon prime, but I MIGHT make a stop at loves friday on my way to hiddenfalls
the best coax is the clear and you can see the copper it cost a little more but it is worth it
