None of you have obviously driven in Portland lately. That place is a parking lot now.

Man, I've been looking into doing this but holy hell it's been tough to find a decent place to stay and everything I've been reading points to massive traffic jams out in Oregon and Idaho :icon_crazy:
Cant beat that for sure .. wish i was able to that as well .. but i think where im bound for should be pretty decent if the weather cooperates as it is kinda in between the max time and best viewing areas ..Come on up to my place in Idaho, I'll be sitting in my back yard.

Yup and next week it will only be worse .. wishes i could leave before sat morning but gotta work fri night so plan to head right out afterwards to make it where i am headed by late afternoon early evening and hope where i want to stay isnt packed full .. if so will head for my backup and as its more primitive than my first choice im hopeful it will be openAll this fire smoke is making for a very red sun right now. Will be interesting to see how it turns out next week. The area has already started seeing an influx of people and camping areas are very full. Yellowstone park is overly busy already not worth visiting at this time. I want to get out on some more trails and more camping but will hold off for a few weeks.

Just checked today and I'm in the path of the eclipse. So I will definitely be checking it out near Columbia, SC down on Lake Murray.
