TIDE PODS - Are they Really that Valuable??

I was at my local Lowe's Hardware today and as I was walking down the cleaning supplies isle, I notice something new. In fact, it's so new, it wasn't there the week before. Specifically, what I noticed was that all the Tide Pods and JUST the Tide Pods were locked up behind a cage. All the other laundry detergents above and below including liquid Tide were all just sitting on an open shelf!

I mean, WTF?? I can't say that I've ever seen this before and can only imagine that it's because they're valuable? The weird thing is, even things like spray paint and even expensive tools were all just sitting out or hanging up without any security preventing their theft. Like I said, this is totally new and was wondering if any of you have been seeing this too?

You’re just too close to California, gotta lock up the snacks
 
When i talked to guy at our lowes because all of the electrical was locked up and had to be walked to the front. He told me they did a bunch of reagonal research and started putting cages on the most shoplifted items.

Because of the retards doing the tide pod challenge.
I noticed that at Target awhile back and asked the manager.

If you look on the shelf below, you can see that the "Tide Oxi HD" product was totally stolen already!
