One disappointing fact is that this was not the single module system so it looks almost the same as my old swap. With the single module system it's the Jeep ECM that goes away.
At this point the ten speed needs a little tuning. The vehicle speeds are off by about 5mph so it shifts a little funky some times. Overall though this set up has much more go than the last one. I found you have to let up on the throttle when it shifts. The torque when it upshifts will push you faster if you don't let up a little and after 4 or 5 gears you realize you are going a bit faster than you wanted to be. (Not a big deal when you get used to it)
At the Endo of the day it just needs to be tuned in for the jeep not an Escalade. It'll take some time but I think it'll clean up nice. I'm still waiting on the atlas anyway so I've got time to play with shifts and such.
That's really interesting to hear. Do you have an HP Tuner?

The biggest thing I need to do at this point is get the gears and tire size in the TCM and that should fix the shifting.
Do you have the stock tune for the trans? It's kind of a bummer that you can't just download what's there on a 10-speed.

I do but stock is like 3.73 gears and 30" tires so I have to get all the measurements and write the new tune to the computer. It's like 10 mins of work I just need to go do it. I'm just getting everything unpacked and situated from the shakedown run but I'll get to it.
Oh no, that's great. At least you already have something to work with. I was just saying that if you didn't have it, you wouldn't be able to download what's there.

No I've got the stock reads out of all the computers already. Just need to start poking around and changing values to get where I want to be.

So I spent one Friday doing some test and tune driving on the transmission. It now shift pretty spot on through all the gears.
I spent a weekend finishing the long arm kit. I had gotten the front done before the black bear trip so I finished out the rear.
A couple notes for Evo long arms on stock suspension:
1. The rear needs ~3" of bump stop extension to keep the arms from binding at the frame end. The down side is with that much bump stop extension your sitting on the bump stops at ride height.
2. Tires on stock wheels will not clear the long arms. I had to get wheels spacers to get the tire out far enough to not rub both arms.
On a future note I got a set of 37" mud grapplers ordered and should have a 4" lift installed by spring for the next jeep season.

Nice, congrats on the Atlas! Yours will turn tires before mine does in the 8.

Well this atlas took much longer than I would have hoped but I got everything installed and drove the jeep out of the garage today. I still have to get the 1350 driveshafts from the old jeep resized for this one but the front fully compressed was just short enough to get it moved out of the garage and into the shop for now. The rear was banged up in the crash with the old jeep so that one is in two pieces on the floor. Got some good measurements and hopefully I can drop them off next week to get fixed.

It's been a while since I updated this thread. Not a whole lot has changed. Mostly waiting for parts and trying to find the motivation to put them on when it's 30° in the garage.
Weather was nice last weekend so I stripped down the front axle. I had an axle seal leaking so I dug down to get to that. Then I decided I might as well press out the ball joints and weld in the C gussets. The final piece going back together will be a drag link flip kit.
I got one side of the gussets done and started on the other side when the welder ran out of wire. Luckily it's supposed to be nice tomorrow so I can run and get what I need to get that done.

Almost forgot. I also have 4" plush rides and new shocks as well as a set of 37's that need to go on. That's the main reason for wanting to get the gussets done. I've been waiting on the tires until my tire carrier comes but I'm starting to lose faith. Ordered it from evo back in October and haven't heard hide nor hair since December.
