As long as there is not 2" of ice, you will be fine.

With heavy ice, tree branches (and whole trees) fall down, and take out the power.

And you can't really drive on ice.
In 2019, 2020, and 2021 we had ice storms. 2019 was the worst one. Had over an inch of freezing rain and it downed large mature oak and elm trees, power lines (out for weeks in some areas), and was just a mess.

Here is Dallas we seem to have no shortage of ice storms. But this has been a really mild winter so far. Significant cold on Tuesday night though.
