And that was my assumption, that in some way, the windshield would have to be made with some kind of proprietary coating to make it work well and typically, things like that make replacing it a lot more expensive. Of course, I could be wrong - I admit that I'm not some kind of windshield technology expert.
BTW - you ever price out a 2012-up windshield vs. an standard 2007-11?
No, never did...NY/NJ has 100% full glass coverage in the insurance policy, so I have never paid for a windshield on any vehicle, ever. However, you tickled my curious bits...are they different (besides the decals)?
They are the same only the 2012-up do have the easter eggs on them and they come at a premium. Of course, you could run an aftermarket glass for a lot less. My point is that if in fact you needed something proprietary, it too would come at a premium and with the way I go through windshields, that would suck to HAVE to get a factory glass. Still, it doesn't change the fact that I do think this is cool :yup:
