Thanks. We had been going out there for the couple of weekends since we bought the place. This was the first time anything like that had happened and I'm guessing it was just because of the holiday weekend. I think the more we can secure the fence line and make it clear that the land is occupied, something that it had not been in a long time, things will change. Even the second guy started walking back off the ledge and being nice once I met their lame ass On X Offroad challenge.
^^^^ This has been my argument about them too, super capable machines bone stock with very little learning curve required to do what used to be extreme shit. I've seen too many brand new SXS's at sand mountain parked next to the entrance road with all the passengers being loaded in ambulances or worse BLM dragging a body bag off the hill.

It really sucks that I hear this from so many people. Not that I haven't met nice guys who run side-by-sides, it just seems that more times than not, they aren't.
That's just the thing right? I could hear these guys discussing whether or not to open the gate and come through. Guy #1 convinced guy #2 that it was okay even though he seemed to have misgivings about it.
They're enough of a problem out there that Moab no longer allows them to do the big event they used have. They are really wrecking trails like the Rubicon as well. Tearing off trail just to get by a jam instead of working things out and being respectful. I see it all the time and it just sucks.

Funny, I know of a couple back east that bought one and started wheeling it. About six months in they rolled it pretty bad and messed up there kids (all is well with them now) and then they sold it right away. Had they had some sort of training it would have been avoided. It wasn’t an accident that lead to the roll, it was a mistake.
Same thing. A good friend of mine bought the top of the line RZR Turbo with no real offroad experience outside of military HMMWVs. He rolled that thing 3 times in a year.
. Maybe the fad will calm down before all the trails are closed.
We can only hopeMy neighbors actually got some SxS's a couple years ago and talked about how awesome they were. They tried convincing me that I should sell the jeep and get one. Now one of them is thinking about selling his rzr and getting another jeep
That's just the thing, so many people who buy these things think that they're capable of doing anything and at high speeds and so they do really dumb things with them. And, if they crash or roll, whatever - it's not like they're destroying their daily driver. Lame that they hurt their kids in the process of being a dumbass.
So far so good. I'm guessing that most of the people who were cruising through the ranch were locals and hopefully that word will get around that access is now closed.
Honestly, if they're really doing tours, I'd rather see that as at least someone will be showing them the way. But, if they're just being let loose, that really sucks. As mentioned, the very first guy I saw just tore up the hill, on the public land side and just so that he could get around my property. These bone heads have no concept of treading lightly.
