The Building of the Banana Jeep

Volunteered to work an event with the Jeep driving people to/from a starting line (runners). We decided to have a little fun waiting.

Sweet! You'll love it. I'll probably still be driving back from Utah that weekend. I do need to get back out to SMORR though. Maybe I can hit it "on the way" home... What days will you be out there?

Driving down either Thursday evening or Friday the 25th, coming home Monday the 28th

Boy oh boy has it been awhile. Haven't done much with the Jeep... other than wheel it, and I upgraded it to a ZJ V8 tie rod.

Pretty clean looking! Congrats!

Thank you! A little more info on it though: this Jeep has been around. A Jeep slut, if you will. I've known the past two owners pretty well. The original guy who had it, never scrapped it because it runs too dang good. He sold it to another friend who had plans to build it into a CJ7 buggy, however ended up finding an old Ford Bronco instead. Long story short; i asked him what he wanted for it when he was pissed at it, and I got a great deal.

The body is rough, lots of bondo and rust. Some of the aluminum trim covers the rust holes. It doesn't have enough good parts to justify restoring it. I bought it to wheel in the river. I put a set of old Hoosier dirt racing tires on it, which surprisingly work great in the river.

River Jeeping is interesting - lots of good looking women, and probably a little too much beer involved lol. I had a blast this summer in the CJ.

Since I've last posted, I also went to Wisner, NE to one of the largest tractor pulls in the country to pull tractors around. One of the most redneck things I've done in awhile....

Aaaannnnnddddddd..... I went to MOAB. I had a TON of fun! It was my first time to Moab, and I brought my mom. We didn't run anything too crazy because she hasn't had a lot of seat time in the Jeep, but we still had a blast. Thanks to the RR4W for leading us around.

Put a Novak shifter kit in the TJ over the weekend. Put one on a buddies JKU and both installs took 2+ hours each. Don't know how they are saying it's a simple 30 minute install...lol. I dropped onto a big rock and jacked up my tranny mount, replaced that and everything aligns again.

Did it change the shifter location on the JKU?

Well, it's been a minute since I've updated this thread. I broke the Jeep back in October at Creepy Crawl and haven't fixed it yet (rear end). It's torn apart in the garage... one of these days I'll get around to finishing it.

Some of you may remember I bought a 1985 Jeep CJ7, WEEEEELLLL..... I got rid of it already. Lol. The motor was pretty much gone, it went to a gentleman who is going to restore it and bring it back to life. It'll have a way better life than what I would have given it.

I bought another Toyota. This "thing" has been SAS'd, 3.4 v6 swapped, locked front/rear, on 37" MTRs. It's a nice little crawler. Looks goofy as hell.
