Does the camera run on a special app?

And looking at your battery makes my head hurt. When you redo it look into 12v circuit breaker instead of the fuses. They’re pretty cheap and you can be done with the fuses there.

Yep, the camera works off an app from either the Apple store or Google Play site. I think it's a generic app, but it's called SWD Camera. Never thought of the circuit breaker. I found these boxes on Amazon. I'll look into those circuit breakers.

They’re pretty cheap and come in different Amp ratings, mount it right by the battery same as a fuse and you can consolidate a lot of that wiring.

Try Blue Sea Systems. Fuses and circuit breakers for DC that come in small 6 & 12 pack designs. I like the fuse type better.

Finished up installing a remote fused power supply in the cargo area over the weekend. Always seem to be needing more outlets back there so this 6 outlet block should do the trick. I used #6 battery cable to run from the block to the battery. Thinking of adding a 110 inverter back here as well eventually. I bought a bunch of these waterproof connectors off of Amazon for a couple bucks so I can quickly hook up or remove accessories.

First thing I finally hooked up was this Bluetooth reaview camera. I've had this damn thing for a year or so and finally can see behind me whenever I want. I can view it on both my iPad as well as my phone. Weird driving down the road seeing behind you in real time.

Second thing I hooked up was my fridge. Since I don't have a lighter outlet in the rear of Gruff but do in Badger, I cut the cord and added these quick connectors so I can switch back and forth by unhooking the ends. I keep the lighter plug cord in Badger.

An unfortunate side effect is my battery looks like some kind of maniac hooked all of this shit up. :icon_crazy: I gotta get this shit cleaned up.

Nah I’m not referring to your auxiliary fuse box, those are great. I’m talking about your battery connection web with the inline fuses, since you said you want to clean those installs up

Hard to tell from your picture but it looks like the bigger gauge cables you have running with no protection, if the insulation rubs off where it goes through metal somewhere it becomes a fire hazard quickly.

Should have small independent “box” units, like 3”x7” or so. I have one under my hood for lighting connections. They work great and are marine grade. Make sure you go to the manuf web site.

Ok, I see what you're saying. I did see those in my searches. But would I really need those if all of those accessories connected are protected with their own individual fuses? I don't think anything I hooked up doesn't have a fuse in the supply with the exception on my winch.

No, you wouldn’t need any of it honestly. Just cleans things up and keeps things protected, main upside to using a circuit breaker system is if you trip it you can just flip the switch. Instead of having to go to some car audio shop to find the special blade fuse for large wires, or running through the regular style fuses. And when you’re working on something you just hit the button to disconnect it. Also more waterproof than the rubber holders you have, no issues with the fuse holder itself developing resistance issues from rust/oxidation etc. I wouldn’t put a non water resistant panel in the engine bay though, I have the same fuse panel coop posted but it’s behind my glove box but that would absolutely get wet under the hood.

For your auxiliary rear power system i would go 12v+—>[circuit breaker near batt]———————>[fuse panel] match the amperage of the breaker to the max load listed on the panel, or since you said inverter in the future will be mounted there the max amps for that.

What accessories are hooked to your battery directly? Do they stay in the engine bay or enter the vehicle? You’ve got pretty much limitless options on how you clean and simplify that if you want to.

Only thing that isn't fused is the winch. Everything else is.
 
Ugh, enough electrical shit. On to the fun stuff.

It's time. :brows: Cleaned these bad boys up and will be sending 'em out to Bubba for a rebuild Monday. Will be ordering the fronts in a week or two. Depending on how the weather holds out I may try to get the rears mounted up and then get the fronts next or just wait until after the holidays. We'll see what the Fall brings.

I did order a Rockhard front seat harness bar and 4 point belts from Exodus today. Based on my last outing at Turtle Ridge I'd like the option of better belts when necessary. I'm always good at recognizing these things AFTER the fact :rolleyes2:
