The build of Project Redemption

Remy's New build

Alright guys, I know we just kinda swung into this build thread full swing a little last minute because we were partying it up over at Jim's house. I thought I would give everyone a little insight on this build and why its so special to me and my family. I got into this way of life with my '13 10th Anniversary Rubicon JKU. I started stock piling a ridiculous amount of parts for this jeep and then I met my girlfriend. We dated for about 6 months and decided to move in together. We got our first apartment but in doing this, my 500 dollar payment for my rubi was unrealistic. So i traded my rubi in for a 2dr sport base model and finally installed my stock pile which included evo enforcer, slabs, 37s etc. Well after being in the apartment for the year, my whole life came what seemed like crashing down at the time when I learned at 23, I was going to be a father. My lease was up in a month, my girlfriend had no health insurance, and i was so completely lost on what to do with myself. I had a lot of planning and a lot of self preparation to do. Soon my prorock fund turned into a house fund and my 2dr turned into another 4dr. Now here we are, my girlfriend turned into my wife and shes 15 weeks pregnant. We're super excited for the baby in May and are turning our lives around and growing up very quick lmao. We decided to turn this time of "chaos" into a positive and traded my two door in for our fresh project. Surprisingly my wife is in full support of my addiction and is excited to build up our new 15 JKUR we decided to name "Redemption". It seemed fitting to our situation and is pretty funny because Im 23 and on my 3rd brand new jeep in 2 years lol.

This is a mild build but will be perfect for me and my family. My plans so far...

-Evo HD Leveling Kit
-35" Nitto Trail Grapplers
-Crawler Conceptz plain front bumper with shackle tabs

Future "Non-Essential" Mods

-King 2.5s
-Slabs
-Rock Hard Sport Cage
-To be Continued...

I just wanted to give some insight on my project and why it means so much to me and my soon growing family. Small update tonight, played around and installed my leveling kit tonight with my dad..

Got my cb wired up on lunch break today. Just waiting on the coax cable and stud for the antenna to come.

Went to my parents after work and threw on the rear of my evo leveling kit and put some decals on. Gonna have to order another ORE decal, mines slightly crooked and it irks me.

Wow! Sounds like you have been through a few life changing thing all at once. So Congrats on the marriage and especially the little one on the way!
Looks like you have a good build started on the new 4dr. Look forward to seeing the build.
Good luck with everything!

Congrats on the kid, the wife, and the jeep. Don't let too much stress get to you. Pack up the wife and go for a drive in the jeep. [emoji106]

Build it slow as funds arise. Not that I was building mine very fast but we were just put in a place where we had to move so we bought a house. We love it but it's a higher monthly payment. So the jeep suffers. The wife loves the jeep too though so that helps, I involve her in everything with it. Soon you will have a little one that will enjoy the wayalife also.

Thanks guys! Its definitely a new way to look at everything and priorities change. Im glad she supports the addiction and im excited to take her wheeling for the first time

Congrats. I too got on the marriage/kids fast track. Have 3 kids. Still have fun time for me though too. Gotta find the balance. Looks like you're working through it ok.

I just got on the kids wagon. I had my first one 7 months ago and I'm 36. So I was use to doing what I wanted now I have to take 2 others in consideration. But I have such an awesome wife of 8 years. The kid has turned my life upside down. He is the most awesomely thing I have ever seen! You will love it!

Best of luck and congrats on everything. I went through same scenario - 23, first daughter at 23-1/2, marriage, house 2 more girls, etc, etc.
Now the youngest is 18 and I made it through just fine. Had one helluva blast along the way. Enjoy - they grow up fast.

Edit: LOL forgot- nice Jeep too!

My wife took it and got the 35s put on [emoji16]. I was so excited i went home at lunch to pick it up. Ive got a little trimming to do...

Not sure why my pictures keep coming up sideways..

Spent like 3 hours tonight with my dad chopping my flares and front bumper. Sprayed all underneath with bedliner and am very happy with how it came out. More pictures to come. ImageUploadedByWAYALIFE1449891113.600717.jpg

Congrats on the marriage and baby!! Getting married was the best thing to ever happen to me. Your jeep looks great. Why did y'all pull the axles to weld on the Cs?

Just a little update.

I was really impressed with how my leveling kit performed with 35s. Got to see my tires at full stuff and figure out some improvements ill be needing. The front barely rubbed at full stuff, and the rear rubbed just a little worse.

So after this trip and seeing how my leveling kit performed, i would rate this kit an honest 10/10. This kit is designed for 33s and i pushed it with 35s. If your going to run 35s with this kit, i would definitely recommend 1" bumpstops all the way around (possibly 2" in the rear, im going to try 1" first), brakeline brackets or steel braided line, and regardless whether you run 33s or 35s i recommend new shocks. With this kit and factory shocks, you only have about 2" of downtravel.

Stopped at sports authority tonight and got myself some 1" bumpstops for 10 bucks [emoji6]

I was really surprised with how well the Evo leveling kit performed as well! I think you really only need 1" all the way around for bumpstops and your golden.

Yeah I'm gonna try the 1 inch all the way around first. That just means we have to hit trail 11 again soon [emoji57]
