As some of you know, Cindy and I manually approve new accounts and we do so by checking multiple things. Obviously, there is the obvious in that we check things like the user name being used, email address and do an IP check but we also look for things like the details that are filled in the profile. Spam bots back in the day wouldn't be able to fill in things like what kind of "off-road vehicle" they have or what their favorite trail is but now, thanks to AI, they can do both and with reasonable answers! Even scarier, they can even fill in very believable "about" and "occupation" text. If not for the dead giveaway of throwing in a stupid solicitation, I'd have to say they'd be a lot harder to pick out these days.
