The Adventures of Fiona - '08 JK Rubicon 2-Door

Whenever I see photos of gear patterns I can't tell what I'm looking at. They never look like the drawings in the set up instructions. That's one of the main reasons I haven't attempted changing my gears yet.

Was that the first pattern you ran or did you make shim adjustments before this one? If so, was there a noticeable change in the pattern?
Working on getting the pattern set on the gears... How does this look? (First test)

It was the first we ran. Jerry has had a bit of experience with gear setup and he was happy with the way it looked based on past experiences but was looking for some other opinions due to it being "so easy." [emoji23]

That being said, the new bearings were the same as the old bearings (we measured them) and the only adjustment we needed to do was to swap the shims from one side of the carrier to the other. Everything else seemed to be good.

There are a few more steps we need to go through, so this won't be the final check.

Got the gears done on Friday. Went down to Jerry's today to pick her up and start the long slow drive back home to begin the break-in process... It was nice to not be able to hear gear noise over the tire noise. [emoji41]

Now that she's back home, maybe I'll start on some of her other upgrades that have been building up in the garage for the last year. [emoji848]

That’s great, what’s in store next?

There's a long list. [emoji23]

Fix the wiring on my rock lights, install new air bumps so I won't tear up the rock light wiring for a fourth time, install brackets to push the front shocks away from the frame at full droop, pull off the tire carrier, install new tire rack, install Gatekeeper, new half cab soft top... I'm sure there's more that I'm forgetting.

They’re all big lists! The two door half tops look great IMO.
