Tazer Questions

hi everybody, I just bought a new to me 2021 JLUR. While im not to jeeps, or 4wheeling in general, I am somewhat new to the Tazer. I had one on my JT years ago, but never really got to involved with it.

Im wondering which "quick button" setting seem to be working best for y'all. Ide like to have sway bar disconnect, front or rear locker select, and winch pull idle speed on the "quick button" function. (i hope I'm using that term correctly, Button reprogram may be a better description. )

Are there any negative side effects to having these options as quick buttons? Which options did y'all reprogram your buttons with?

For the most part, I pretty much use my Tazer to set my gear ratio, tire size, to lower my TPMS threshold and to turn off all the error lights I have from all the mods on my Jeep. Can't say I've ever used it for the quick buttons.

those reasons are exactly why i originally bought the Tazer to begin with, back when I had the gladiator. 1 thing I just can not stand on the JL is the inability to disconnect the sway bar in 2wd. On my JK i bought an EVO knob that installed on the sway bar motor. it worked great....but if there was a way to do this from inside the cab, that would be preferred. It appears the tazer gives you that ability.

Same goes with the lockers. I wish JEEP would have made them truly selectable despite the TCASE position. Again, on the JK this was easy enough to wire toggle switched to the relay and bypass the factory terms and conditions to engage lockers.

At any rate im going to play around with this tazer and the options this weekend.

FYI, you can disconnect the sway bar in 2WD by simply hitting the sway bar button, no need to map it to the steering wheel.

Honestly though, it’s kind of a pain in the ass. First, you have to be in park to apply it. Second, if you go above 30mph it’ll reconnect and that’s totally fine. However, more often than not it won’t disconnect again after you’ve dropped below 30; you have to come to a complete stop.

As for mapping other things, I’ve thought about doing it for the front locker but I rarely wish I could do front digs.

i had no idea the sway bar would disconnect in 2wd. going to have to try this later today. as far as the front locker and digging, i live out in KY and the trails can get tight quick. Looking forward to turn assists and front digs :)

I agree, the front locker can be a benefit and for this, I've wired my lockers to the AUX switches to allow me to do just that.

is there a how to somewhere for this? this would be a much better option i think.....as long as the passenger doesnt randomly touch buttons going down the highway lol

Mopar sells a 2-wire kit for their electric lockers. You just plug it into your axle end, connect the power lead to one of the hot leads (I used #2 for the front and #4 for the rear) and the connect the other leads to ground.

maybe a silly question, but will i need 2 kits? 1 for the rear and 1 for the front?

I agree with you here I had mine set up to the quick button but to get the sway bar to disengage was awful. I scrapped the idea all together and just went with the EVO disconnect and haven't looked back.
