Stupid Drivers

Hooked
This past week I’ve encountered one driver that was all over the road heading to Big Sky. He about hit a couple people head on and about hit the guard rail in other areas. He ended up bouncing off of the guardrail and kept going. We called this idiot in for potentially a DUI. IMG_8909.jpeg

Today on the way home from the store, seems like I just about witnessed some high schoolers in a roll over. Probably caught the shoulder on the right and over compensated to the left.

Anyone else witness stupid or crappy drivers and capture it?

This makes level 9 and 10 trails in Sand Hollow seem relatively safe!

I just installed a front & rear dash cam so I can capture the idiotic shit that I see people do.
With the amount of commuting I've been doing I was thinking of installing at least a forward facing one. Which ones did you go with? I think my local costco has one and was going to look into it.

Same here.

I recently got a couple Garmin units. The Mini 2 in the back and the 67W up front. So far so good. If I had to do it again, I'd just buy two Mini's. I don't need the screen, or driver assist features of the 67W.

Thanks ill look into those. What was the price point for those? Not sure the brand but costco has a couple different front and rear units for around $175-$200 now.

Mini 2 is up on Amazon, Costco, etc for under $100. The Mini 3 is $150. (Also, don't buy a 512GB memory card. I'm using spare 32GB cards I had laying around and they're more than enough.)

I have the rear camera attached to a 6' USB extension routed behind the pillars/panels and plugged in to the rear 12V outlet. The front plugs into the GARMIN constant power port which plugs into the OBD port under the dash.

Unfortunately, I don't only have to deal with stupid drivers, the compound I live on at work in the Middle East is dealing with an increasing number of children on Electric Scooters...

Do these have the ability to turn on if the cars not turned on? IOW a perking lot if someone backs into you or if someone is trying to break in?

As long as they have power they are constantly recording and saving to the memory card. You can wire them to constant power sources, or like I mentioned above, I got the Garmin Constant Power Port ($60) that plugs into the OBD port under the dash. It has a switch on it that you can set to 10min, 24hrs, or always powered. It has two USB slots, so technically I could wire both front and rear to it and have them always on.

Our drive back to and from Carson City is done on a fast moving 2-lane highway with lots of twists and turns. Coming back late last night, there were a row of trucks coming in the opposite direction and as we got closer, a car from the back decided he wanted to pass. Of course, when he saw that I was there, he didn't bother pulling back but rather, TURNED ON HIS FUCKING BRIGHTS to let me know he was coming and to get out of the way. Like, REALLY???

I so fucking hate people.
