Stock Jeep. First move?

Hi all! I'm brand new to Wayalife and brand new to the Jeep community! I just got a 2010 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited Sport all stock, and I was just seeking some advice as to what my first move to make "Blackie" (my Jeep) look like a monster! Should I get tires? Or maybe a budget boost lift? I could use some help from you seasoned vets!

Are you going to wheel it or is it just for looks? If you're going to wheel I'd recommend some rock sliders first!

I say tired first. It will give you the look and it will help with wheeling a little as well for clearance

I'll do some wheeling. Nothing crazy but I'll be getting off road some but to be honest it'd be more for looks.

Thats sort of what I was thinking! How big of tires can I run stock? 285/70/17's? Will that work? And what tire would you suggest? I've looked at the BFG M/T KM2's.

You can run a 35" tire with stock fenders. If you go off road tho there will be a lot of rubbing. You would need a lift before you hit some trails.

As for what tire everyone has there own opinion as to what is a good tire. Toyo, nitto, the bfg you mentioned and Goodyear as well. It kinda depends on what you will be wheeling on and in.

Rock sliders:thumb: yes you can run the 285's km2 are decent tires but when i have to get new tires, it will be the nitto trail grappler

If you're going simply for looks go with tires first as you won't like the look of a lifted jeep and stock tires

Your first move should be to get a lot of money in a stack, then watch it dwindle down to nothing before you realize you are not even close to being done. :cheesy:

If you are going just for looks I'd go with tires.

But since you claim to be new, I'd probably hang out a bit, read a ton, meet some people that off road in your area. Who knows? Maybe you'll find you actually want to use your jeep how it is meant to be used and then change you build plan.

Good luck!

So that is 35's with stock everything except fender flares?

Yes what Overlander said. It's stock except my chopped fender flares and those 35" wheels. I had to trim my rubi rails to prevent rubbing and the newer '13s come with trimmed rear pinch seams stock so that's not an issue. And YES Overlander does want a 4-door now, but can't betray his beloved 2-dr "Snorkelz." Shoot it took him 2weeks just to install his lift. Haha

Still working on it.

If you're going mainly for looks I would think about the Goodyear Wrangler Duratrac. They look really aggressive like an M/T but are an all-terrain. They work well on and off road too.

I'll mostly be I the mud for my off roading experience. I won't be climbing huge rocks most likely. I'll mostly be getting muddy. Does that change things?
