spider web shade

I got one of these for my kids I've got a 6 month old little girl and a 2 year old boy and its AWSOME I can take the top off and go down the highway at 70 80 mph and there not getting beat down by the wind and it actually helps keep it cool from this Texas heat

I love mine also! I bought the SW1 trail mesh for my 2 dr, and it makes a huge difference when the sun is blasting! Feels like you loose almost 5 degree when you step in! also on the highway, we get a lot less wind on the inside.

And for those who wonder, YES it fits with both the soft and hard top without the need to remove the spiderweb shade.

which trail mesh one did you get ?? what would look better black or color match ??

I got the SW1 4 door Trail Mesh Black. Personally if I had a Jeep any other color than black, I would still get the black SWS. I wouldn't color match. That's just me though.

I added the sides to my 2door long. Makes a great cage to keep kids and dogs in. This is trail mesh as well.

I'm just wondering what is so awesome about this product?

I think that part of what makes it so awesome is its simplicity. You can just put it on and leave it there. No messing around with it to put your hard or soft top back on except for removing 2 of the spiderballs which takes all of 5 seconds. It provides good protection from the sun for those of us who are sort of fair skinned and it also helps to reduce a bit of the wind without taking away from the open air feeling when the top is down.

How do you latch the freedom panels with it in place

There are grommets where the screws would fit up into the panels, you would also need to temporarily loosen the ball on the front to connect/latch the panels, then re attach the balls and the shade. I have mind under my trektop nx. I leave the two spider balls near the footman's loop off for the header clamps and just wrap them on themselves so they don't get lost. I can get a couple pics in a bit if you want.

Does anyone have problems with it flapping on the speaker bar? It's not a big deal, just a bit annoying.

Yeah, mainly at higher speed. I messed with a couple bar magnets and they worked great but I was worried how they would affect the paint on the bar or wear on the mesh. I just took my trektop nx back off and I have a couple ideas that I may mess with to stop it. I will post up if it works.

So as promised here are some pics of the tie downs I used for mine. I drove it tonight and didn't really notice it flapping as bad. I picked these up at target. They were under 5 bux I think. These are the middle sized ones. Basically they are like a plastic covered twist tie. They are super flexible. I have them holding the top, coming down through the freedom top hole, wrapped around the bar and then in the channel on top of the bar.

NICE ill have to look into these since I bought the same top as u. . .not sure how bad the flapping is yet it may not bug me

It's not really that bad honestly. It's really noticeable when it's windy and your driving 50+

Yeah mine flaps even at lower speeds (35+). It's not bad though. I'll look into the super twisty tie mod.
