Does the wiring allow you to disconnect at the door so you can still take them off?
I thought I would try to give you more helpful advice and hopefully it will address your concerns. I can tell that you are having trouble with this and it is only fair that we do everything we can to help you.
You first want to ensure that there is a connection, so you would want to use one of these:

You'll know when you have a good connection. Now, in order to disconnect the wiring at the door, you should use one of these:

After that is done, then you will attach the lights. Attaching is fairly straightforward, you just apply this:

Now if anything gets stuck, use this:

Once you are all done, all you will need is this:

To clean up any imperfections.
