That’s so wrong. If that ever happened here I’d toss my TV (that I don’t watch) and read more books.

Perhaps advertising funded TV is not a thing in the UK. I think that free broadcast TV is great (although I have not watched it since ordering my Jeep almost 6 years ago). When broadcast TV folds there won't be anything for the financially disadvantaged to do while they are drinking their beer.
