Credit score is the biggest disqualifier for clearances. The interesting thing is everyone I know with a clearance (DHS) they lose it immediately when they leave a job regardless. I think DOD you can keep it for a little bit.
Hmmm, I know those of us who were Civilian Marines had our clearances for 10 years at a time. I had renewed mine about two years before I punched out but if were to go back in reactivating the remainder of it would be a pretty smooth straight forward process. Still married, havenāt been arrested, and have an 800+ credit score so a quick background instacheck and it would be signed off on.
