SOLD : RUBICAT - 2012 JK Wrangler Rubicon Unlimited / 40's + EVO DTD

Maybe I'm crazy but I've priced out used 2012 JKUR's with the same amount of miles Rubicat has and they're selling for about $22k. Of course, if you were to build her up right and the way we have to run a V8, you'd need a few things such as axles that can handle the extra power. The custom 72.5" XD60 front axle with Pro 1550 knuckles and custom full float ProRock 60 rear axle are essentially brand new. The axles alone are worth close to $20k. And then there's her suspension. Assuming that'd be something you'd want too, an EVO high clearance long arm kit with DTD installed isn't exactly cheap. Add things like her front bumper, armor, rocker guards, winch, cage, full doors and half doors, etc. and I think you'd find that there's no way you could build up a JK like this for $54k. Rubicat was built to have a V8 installed, built to perform and I honestly thought that this would be a hell of a deal. That being said, I suppose a good deal is only a good deal if someone is willing to buy her. If anyone out there is seriously interested, please make me an offer. So long as it's reasonable, I'll be sure to consider it.

I'm actually kinda shocked she's still available. The miles really shouldn't be an issue either because all of the running gear besides the tranny & engine are pretty much bulletproof. Hell, my Durango has 238k on the same drivetrain combo and its still going strong. This is a steal IMO and I'm dyin' that this damn thing doesn't have a set of Pa plates and sitting in my garage - wife's new horse trailer and tow rig killed that possibility :grayno:

I just saw the thread and caught up on it I hate to see Rubicat go but hopefully to someone who will put it to use
I would love to take Rubicat but can’t afford it and I don’t Offroad nowhere near as much as y’all do

It’s one hell of a deal I’m just wondering if people would rather buy JLs or what the deal is or maybe it’s just that no one is in the market right now for Rubicat. Now if you wanna trade for my 2012 JUR MW3 I would love to take Rubicat off your hands. lol it’s a joke but just odd that it’s still available

FOR SALE : RUBICAT - 2012 Jeep JK Wrangler Rubicon Unlimited – Dozer Yellow

IMHO...

Over the last year used JK prices have fallen considerably. Perhaps to the anticipation, and eventual arrival, of the JL.

Have to find a certain buyer who wants those modifications and can afford them. Not likely to get a bank to finance a rig that’s twice the KKB value.

A lot of miles. Fun and memorable miles for sure, but still a lot of miles.

Sadly I think I’ll be in the same boat.

Unfortunate but true...I know that if I put my Brute or JK6 up for sale, I wouldn't be able to recoup half of what I invested into them. That being said, Rubicat is unique enough that all it takes is one person that wants a built rig without going through the arduous process of actually building one themselves..

And don't ask if I'm selling anything...the answer is no. I will be driving them until I no longer can (or the law stops me)...

Eddie, I think it’s a hell of a deal, even with the JL out now. Would cost so much $ to build this. This is a rare beast and I’m surprised it’s still available too. If i had the cash to make up the difference from the bank I’d come see you today!!

It's a great deal. Just gotta wait for the right buyer that has the cash. It will be a sad day for us when that happens haha. Kidding but good luck and I hope it goes to someone who will treat her right.

I would love to have it, but I just bought my 2015.

That said, I think the trouble is that those who are able to pay cash for a purchase this size are hard to find, and many would already have a work in progress, or would rather build up their own.

For those who need to finance, there are few options for such a purchase. As stated earlier, book value is all the bankers know, so that is all you can typically get a loan for.
Rip off dealers can sell over book value and get it financed, but it will cost a lot for a poorly built ride.

I see many Jeeps advertised for a similar dollar amount, and they stay in the ads for a long time, and most are not even close to the quality here.

If I won the lottery, I would be on the next plane to Reno to drive her home, and the little woman could have my Jeep, but until then I, like most on here, have to just look and dream.

Good luck finding the right buyer

Have you tried expanding where you're advertising it to get more eyes on it? Keep holding out. That thing is so cool to let go of and not get a good deal in return. Stay patient.
