I was about 3' from this guy when we were clearing an area for the tent. I nearly stepped on him. 6yrs old according to his rattles.

I killed 17 cotton mouths in our yard (well 16 in mine, one in the neighbor's) the second year we were in my house. I just keep the hoe and shovel handy. The snake boots go on every time I head outside to do yard work.

Ok not a snake, but we found this guy climbing up the front door last night testing the perimeter. I know these buggers are harmless, but i'm glad I put a new seal on the bottom of the door last week!
